APPLICATION/SELECTION PROCESS
This Process Answers The Following Three Questions:
What will you study? Where will you study it? Who will pay for it?
Students MUST Work Together With Parents and/or Guardians!
The BEST situation is that you end up studying what you choose, at a great Institution of your choice, in your ideal location, at NO cost to you or your family…while receiving a periodic STIPEND!
What actually happens will vary, but this is your goal.
Most schools charge an Application fee, which must be either paid or waived, so don’t waste money or waivers applying to schools other than those you really want to attend!
You can APPLY for ADMISSION, for SCHOLARSHIP, or BOTH. At SOME schools, your application for admission automatically generates an application for all School-sponsored Scholarships.
Make a list of your TOP TEN Schools, then make a list of the TOP TEN Scholarships (5 Merit-Based and 5 Need-Based) for which you are qualified.
You want to end up with OPTIONS, so send your FIRST School application to your home State’s University as an insurance policy, then apply to the TOP FOUR schools on your list.
Now apply for the TOP FIVE Scholarships on your list.
Once you’ve received Acceptance Letters from the Schools, and you’ve been notified that you’ve been awarded Scholarships, You must make your final choice, or SELECTION.
Make good use of your research, compare the different programs, evaluate the different cities, etc.
