OPEN LETTER TO THOSE WHO SUPPORTED THE MILLION MAN AND MILLION WOMAN MARCHES

From Lloyd Daniel

Sisters and Brothers:

The November 2nd election presents us with an historic challenge. We are in a position, along with those involved with the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network, and the NAACP, to play a crucial swing vote role in steering this country away from an undemocratic and doomed course of domestic and international domination and aggression.

We can use the same grassroots and internet-based networks that brought out millions of people for the two great watershed marches of this era.

Let us mobilize to change the course of world history by:

  1) Talking with people about the importance of voting our interests

  2) Taking as many people as we can to the polls

  3) Exercising our right to vote

  4) Being prepared for a campaign of law suits and non-violence civil

disobedience if they don’t count our ballots again

Long Live the Spirit of the Million Man March!

Long Live the Spirit of the Million Woman March!

“If my people, which are called by name, shall humble themselves, and pray,

and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways: then will I hear from heaven, and forgive their sins, and I will heal their land.”

                                                             II Chronicles, Chapter 7:14
